Responsibilities:
1. Leads using the Novant Health mission, and goals of the organization in order to direct the departments in a manner consistent with the mission and values of the organization. 2. Monitors performance of the clinical departments within Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center relative to cost, quality, and value. 3. Collaborates with the Administrators, Clinical Directors and Operations Business Managers for the financial management of all areas. Assists with the monitoring of monthly budget; equipment expenditures and determining realistic revenue projections/goals - implements strategies to achieve. 4. Manages positions within the department to achieve quality and productivity, and meet budget. Demonstrates planning and management of financial resources, prepare budgets, attain positive trends in budgetary parameters, and justify or initiate corrective actions to reduce variances. 5. Provides leadership and facilitates the professional development of the Managers and Coordinators within the clinical departments 6. Demonstrates the ability to respond positively to changing circumstances, maximizes opportunities, and minimizes problems. 7. Creates an environment that supports and respects diversity to promote creative problem solving. Excellent verbal and written communication. Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills are essential. 8. Develops and maintains active relationships with nursing leadership peers. 9. Develops and maintains positive relationships with all medical staff. Provides leadership and direction for medical staff in matters relating to nursing. 10. Facilitates quality initiatives in collaboration with the department of Clinical Effectiveness and Patient Safety. Models improvement processes in daily operations. Maintains compliance with all state and regulatory standards. 11. Demonstrates knowledge of process improvement principles and applies appropriately to improvement activities. Evaluate services, identify and resolve issues, and communicate with leadership. Identify and communicate opportunities to improve core and care processes of the grievance and complaint process. Embraces change and acts as a change agent. Is innovative and thinks out of the box. Shows imagination through creative solutions. Displays interest and willingness to try new things and take risks. Consistently reviews processes, looking for trends and improvement opportunities. Adopts new knowledge appropriate to work. Conduct and direct patient/family meetings 12. Holds staff accountable for customer service standards and determines the best opportunity for service recovery to restore trust and good will with our patients 13. Provides ongoing informal and formal feedback to direct reports consistent with organizational policies and procedures. Demonstrates planning and application of human resources to consistently achieve excellent customer and employee satisfaction ratings. Provide ongoing and annual feedback on performance of staff members. Demonstrate development of staff through education and training and assure staff competency by identifying learning needs, and facilitating activities to meet identified learning needs. 14. Provides planning for immediate and long-range needs, including: personnel, equipment, scheduling, training/continuing education, consolidation and cooperation within nursing. 15. Provides clinical expertise to assist with contract negotiations, purchasing/lease arrangement, budgeting. Able to assess network-wide needs and work collaboratively with administration and the medical staff to achieve goals within realistic time frames. 16. Performs other duties as assigned. |
Credentials: Essential: * Registered Nurse
Education: Essential: * Masters Degree Other information:
1. Education: Master’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration or BSN and actively enrolled in a Master’s Degree program. 2. Licensure / Certifications: Must have an active North Carolina Registered Nurse License. 3. Experience: Minimum ten (10) years work experience; 5 years progressive leadership/management experience responsible for multiple departments. |
