Summary:
The Tasker/Liaison serves in a supportive role and takes an assistive assignment in an acute care area, working under the direction of the unit Nurse Manager. This role will serve specifically to support nursing and patient needs during the pandemic with tasks/duties associated with maintaining the smooth functioning of the unit.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist with turns (be the “stuffer”). 2. Put dirty food trays in soiled utility rooms. 3. Fill ice/water pitchers as appropriate. 4. Tidy up patient rooms. 5. Stock rooms: gloves, alcohol pads in basket on wall/shelf, sani-wipes/spray, tab alarm, etc. 6. Gather extra equipment from room: unused IV pumps tube feed pumps, SCD machines, etc. 7. Move equipment in halls to appropriate place; clean goes in a patient room or returned to equipment room, dirty/soiled is returned to the Utility Room. 8. Stock supplies on top of each pyxis machine in PAR rooms & pyxis room 9. Stock PAR cabinets in each pod: arm bands, socks, telemetry electrodes, pulse ox, tissues, BP cuffs, swabs, trash bags, wipes, etc. 10. Check supply carts for expired items. If expired, throw away or place in red bins in PAR room. 11. Gather unused signs from patient doors & return to labeled cabinet in business center. 12. Clean patient refrigerators and microwaves in each PAR. 13. Clean staff refrigerator & microwave in break room. 14. Clean staff tables in break room & conference room. 15. Dust around computers in business center & pods. 16. Run Supplies to clinical staff in rooms. 17. Respond to Call Lights to ensure patient is not trying to get up. 18. Stock Blanket Warmers in each PAR. 19. Answer phones. 20. Takes directions from unit leadership and nursing staff. 21. Demonstrates standard of performance (ownership, teamwork communication, compassion) that support positive employee relations, patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. 22. Performs other duties as assigned. |

Education: Essential: * General Education Degree Other information:
1.Education: High School Diploma or GED required 2.Licensure/Certification: Basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification 3.Experience: Experience preferred. Prefer prior knowledge/experience with healthcare environments/terminology. |
