Work Schedule: 8HR ROTATE - Rotating shifts

What You'll Do

Works under the supervision of the Dietary Coordinator and is responsible for the preparation of menu items for patients, residents, and catering functions.

1. Delivers patient meal trays and food items to floors and units in a timely manner.
2. Maintain quality standards and sanitary food practices while preparing salads, desserts, cold plates, sandwiches, and beverages for current and future use.
3. Maintains clean orderly work area, performs all cleaning assignments ensuring compliance with state and county health regulations and JCAHO standards and documents completions.
4. Collect, compile, and record all patient census, and dietary information to include changes and orders on individual tray cards.
5. Records all refrigerators and dismachine temperature reporting any temperature discrepancy to proper person.
6. Fills the Bulk Nourishment and Evening nourishment (H.S. Snack) requests and deliver to units at prescribed times.
7. Performs dish washing tasks, cleans and sanitizes dish washing area put all dishes, trays, utensils, in proper areas for next meal service.
8. Cleans the dish machine and ensures that work area is clean, sanitized and at all items are stored in proper areas.
9. Cooks and prepares food when needed.

Position Requirements


* General Education Degree

Other information:
1. Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
2. Licensure/Certificate: None Required
3. Experience: One year experience in institutional or restaurant cooking preferred.
Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Individual will possess commensurate combination of education, experience and qualifications.
