What You'll Do

Summary:
Registered Nurse who works under the supervision and direction of the manager of Clinical Data Bases. Responsible for data abstraction, analysis, improvement and data submission of the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) and other data bases as assigned. Ensures compliance with NDNQI data abstraction specifications and submission requirements. Acts as a resource for updates and changes in the indicators. Provides analysis of performance and trends to achieve unit specific and hospital-wide goals. Works closely with the multidisciplines to analyze data and formulate quality improvement projects necessary to improve the care of our global patient population.


Responsibilities:
1. Strong clinical knowledge for data and medical record reviews.
2. Ability to work independently.
3. Subject matter expert for NDNQI program, definitions, requirements, etc.
4. Systems administrator for NDNQI and other assigned Data Bases.
5. Strong problem-solving skills.
6. Provides reports to nursing administrators, CNE, Associate CNE and Administrator of Quality on quarterly bases and as requested.
7. Detailed oriented.
8. Processes data abstraction for quality measurement while ensuring timely and accurate submission of data.
9. Analyze, graph, and present data to Nursing Congress, Nurse Managers, Nursing staff and varying stakeholders at least biannually.
10. Good skills in verbal and written communication across all levels of disciplines.
11. Computer skills, basic research and data analysis.
12. Provides consultation to leadership regarding data findings as needed to ensure best practice.
13. Interpret and Disseminate Staffing and Clinical Indicators Report.
14. Co-ordinates the distribution of timely and meaningful reports/charts in order to facilitate effective problem solving and action plans.
15. Provides updates and interpretation of quality measures and guidelines as received.
16. Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently.
17. Demonstrates the Standards of Performance for Ownership, Communication, Compassion and Teamwork at all times.

Position Requirements

Credentials:
Essential:
* Registered Nurse

Education:
Essential:
* Associate Degree

Other information:
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.
2 Licensure / Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
3 Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional clinical experience in an acute care setting and 3-5 years in a management role.
