What You'll Do

Summary:

As a member of the Business Office team, the Charge Entry Clerk works within the Epic system to perform multiple functions related to charge entry, review, and corrections. This team member has a strong understanding of CPT codes and familiarity with ICD-10, and is responsible for accurate data entry and review of all charges. The Charge Entry Clerk possesses excellent communication skills and maintains optimal attention to detail. 


Responsibilities:

1.Enters manual charges from paper reports into Epic system.

2.Reviews and releases charges from Epic work queues.

3.Reviews and corrects claims in Epic work queues.

4.Answers and directs inbound telephone calls from patients.

Education:
Essential:
* High School Diploma

Other information:

1.Education:High School Diploma or equivalent required.

2.Licensure/Certifications: None required.

3.Experience: Prior experience in a medical billing/revenue cycle setting preferred.

Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. Performs other duties as assigned. Individual will possess commensurate combination of education, experience and qualifications.
