Department: Behavioral Health - Admin

Full Time Equivalent: FTE: 0.500000

Work Type: 32 to 47 Hours Pay Period

Work Schedule: 8a-4p, 2 Days/Week - Rotate Weekends

Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: Yes

What You'll Do


The Substance Abuse Counselor provides direct care for adult patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions. Responsible for providing groups and collaborating with the patient, family, multi-disciplinary team and community agencies to support and coordinate treatment and discharge planning. Responsible for continuing own personal development to enhance practice.


1.Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in developing the patient plan of care based on on-going patient assessment. Conducts various groups and counseling

2.Annually continues personal development to enhance practice and profession.

3.Appropriately communicates information in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

4.Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently.

5.Collaborates with physicians and other team members to integrate plan of care.

Position Requirements

* Licensed Clinical Addictn Spec

* Bachelor of Science

Other information:

Experience: Experience preferred.

Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. 

Performs other duties as assigned. 

Individual will possess commensurate combination of education, experience and qualifications.
