What You'll Do

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

1.Organization and implementation, as well as ongoing maintenance of education and updates to clinically related systems (Ansos, e-shift, Decision Point, Visionware, etc) in collaboration with IT.

2.Work closely with the project sponsor, project leader and IS throughout implementation of new systems or upgrades to current systems. Maintain strong knowledge base for the operation of clinical applications as new ones are installed and existing ones are upgraded; pertinent to the CNRO.

3.Assess the implications on nursing operations and processes of patient care delivery when assisting in resolution of the departmental issues.

4.Participate in testing of new applications

5.Provide departmental support for new and upgraded CNRO systems.

6.Collaboration with managers and directors to ensue clinical systems are being utilized to their fullest in order to get good data.

7.Excellent communication with all areas of the organization

8.Kronos/Payroll responsibility for all CNRO personnel

9.Collaboration and communication with Bed Flow/OR/ED in order to place per diem staff where needed.

10.Will work collaboratively with Nursing Informatics, IS, Nursing and all other departments.

11.Maintains daily staffing sheets designating persons on duty and their specific floor assignments according to patient care needs per unit.

12.Responds appropriately using discretion and independent judgment to a wide variety of request from internal and external customers, in writing or verbal as required to ensure consistent and efficient operation of department functions.

13.Contacts personnel (in cooperation with Directors/Managers) to work in case of call-ins, due to illness or other valid reasons. Works to replace unexpected shortages due to sick or emergency calls outs

14.Manages the sitter lists and obtains and assigns sitters as needed. Ensures sitter process as established is followed.

15.Communicates on an ongoing basis with the Employee Health Nurse regarding any absenteeism anticipated to extend beyond five days (disability or LOAs).

16.Maintains record of orientation, overtime and double shifts for all nursing units, including records of staff solicited for specific needs.

17.Maintains record of absence and tardiness for Patient Service departments as directed.

18.Communicates with Nurse Manager or Assistant Vice President of Patient Care Services; problems with staff or schedules.

19.Communicates with Nurse Managers/CNRO Manager daily to coordinate utilization of personnel on duty during off shifts.

20.Develops and maintains constructive working relationships with Leadership personnel and staff members to promote cooperation, employee satisfaction, and customer service.

21.Other projects as assigned by the CNRO Manager/Assistant Vice President of Patient Care Services or Staffer/Analyst.

22.Maintains office records as required.

23.Prepares reports as needed.

24.Maintains time and attendance system for patient service departments as directed.

25.Acts as Administrative Assistant for the Manager of CNRO

26.Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.

27.Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Experience: Office assistant, Health Unit Clerk, secretarial experience preferred. Health care experience preferred. Computer experience required (Access, Excel, Word); ability to manage data and create graphs.
