What You'll Do


The Business Admin-Cardiovascular Svcs has overall responsibility for total resource management, short and long term strategic planning and program development to ensure compliance with NHRMC’s mission, vision and goals for Cardiac Services.This includes CVOR, CVICU, CCU Cardiac Med/Surg Telemetry Unit, Cardiac Medical Unit, Cath/EP Labs, OPSU, Chest Pain Center, non-invasive cardiology testing, Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab, and Cardiovascular Operating Rooms.The Business Admin-Cardiovascular Svcswill plan, implement, market and evaluate all areas of responsibility in the Medical Center and other affiliated clinical / professional service departments to ensure the optimal delivery of care and service to all patients.The Business Admin-Cardiovascular Svcs will provide consultative services as an integral member of NHRMC’s management staff in formulating, implementing and evaluating cardiovascular and regional services within the organization.


1.Develops and maintains an organizational table for cardiac services.

2.Promotes management staff accountability and assists them to develop their leadership potential.

3.Plays a key role in identifying alternative capital or operating resources required to sustain programs.

4.Ensures that all cardiovascular services follow regulatory or accrediting agency standards and are always prepared for scheduled or unscheduled reviews.

5.Develops a budget strategy, based on current practice, industry trends, and forecasting of the impact of technological innovations and changes in the healthcare environment, including payer mix for all Cardiovascular Services.

6.Collaborates with other departments in the Medical Center to ensure that resources and services are available for optimal patient care. Coordinates activities and direction through highly matrixed relationships.

7.Strong communication, leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills are essential.Skilled in business development and increasing customer satisfaction.

8.A strategic thinker with strong analysis and critical thinking skills. This person must understand the nuances of market share, business development and growth and can develop strong business alliances and strategies.

9.Establishes and maintains a standard of communication between department managers and supervisors, with the Cardiologists and Cardiovascular Surgeons, to ensure resolution of issues that may compromise patient care and/or physician satisfaction.

10.Develops, with the Medical Directors, short and long-term strategic plans for Cardiovascular Services, within the framework of the mission, vision and goals of the Medical Center.

11.Collaborates and participates with other leaders and representatives of NHRMC in decision-making structures and processes, including such issues as product and service standardization.

12.Participates in organizational performance improvement through planning, setting priorities, assessing performance, implementing improvement activities based on assessment, and maintaining achieved improvements.

13.Works in partnership with the public relations department in the marketing of Cardiovascular Services program offerings.

Position Requirements

Master's Degree Required

Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of director or administrator level experience in health care management with a focus in cardiovascular services.A progressive and highly successful track record, ideally in a healthcare system of similar size, scope, and reputation to NHRMC. 

Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. 

Performs other duties as assigned. 

Individual will possess commensurate combination of education, experience and qualifications.
