Work Schedule: 8HR DAY - Most of shift btwn 7A-3P

What You'll Do

Summary:

Non-exempt position responsible for setting up, taking down, and cleaning of endoscopy suite; assisting physicians during endoscopy procedures; cleaning and disinfecting of equipment; ordering and stocking supplies; transporting of patients. Prepares compiles and maintains patient records. Performs other duties as assigned by RN Supervisor.


Responsibilities:

1. Sets up endoscopy procedure room prior to start of procedure to ensure all necessary equipment is available and properly functioning. 2. Assists physician during endoscopic procedures by: • Anticipating the needs of the physician and having all equipment and accessories available for use. • Obtaining, preparing, and handling specimens per physician direction and accurately documenting all pertinent information. • Being observant and relaying all pertinent information to the physician/endoscopy team for positive outcomes. 3. Demonstrates working knowledge of endoscopic equipment and accessories. 4. Accurately documents in electronic health record (EHR) all pertinent information (including but not limited to patient identification, procedure “time out”, procedural start & stop times, endoscope identification number, specimen collection data, and accessory equipment used). 5. Assists in the "turnover" process of the procedure room and center when not involved in patient care. 6. Prepares, assembles, and cleans scopes, instruments, equipment, rooms for procedures according to established protocols. 7. Performs daily safety and quality checks specific to the endoscopy center and accurately records all data. 8. Maintains par level stock of supplies in the procedure rooms and department. 9. Properly disposes of contaminated waste adhering to universal precautions and OSHA regulations. 10. Communicates in a positive and effective manner with patients, members of the department, and the healthcare team. 11. Performs other tasks as identified by the RN or supervisor. 12. Transports specimens as needed. 13. Adheres to attendance policy. 14. Adheres to dress code policy. 15. Adheres to wearing all PPE requirements. 16. Maintains acceptable work quantity (i.e., productivity, organization, planning and time management. 17. Is dependable and punctual, according to scheduled hours. 18. Maintains area as cost effectively as possible. 19. Demonstrates behaviors that support our values of teamwork, excellence, courage, compassion, safety, and diversity/inclusion/equity.

Essential:
* High School Diploma

Other information:

1. Education: • High school diploma or equivalent (required) • Degree or certificate in any patient care discipline (preferred) 2. Current Licensure/Certifications (required): • Basic Life Support (BLS) 3. Experience/ Skills (preferred): • Experience as an endoscopy tech in an outpatient or hospital setting.
