Summary:
Works under the supervision of the Director of the Spiritual Care Department. Plans and implements ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education programs which are timely, comprehensive and meet ACPE, Inc. Standards. Educates CPE Residents and Interns. Provides spiritual care to patients, families, staff and volunteers as needed. Responsibilities:
1.Conducts programs of ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education that meet ACPE, Inc. Standards. 2.Recruits, interviews, selects, orients, educates and evaluates CPE Residents and Interns. 3.Ensures CPE students’ knowledge and compliance with DNV Accreditation and ACPE, Inc. Standards. 4.Responsible for required Department Orientation checklist for Chaplain (CPE) Residents. Conducts new employee 30- and 90-day interviews with CPE Residents. Ensures CPE Residents comply with required NHRMC education. 5.Manages the planning, implementation and evaluating of spiritual care by CPE students for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. 6.Maintains administrative oversight of CPE students assigned to clinical areas. 7.Supports the Director in maintaining records, reports, policies, standards, procedures, educational and library resources necessary for the operation of the CPE program. 8.Assists in maintaining the 24-hour on-duty rotation for the NHRMC System. 9.Provides spiritual care, support and education to NHRMC staff and volunteers. 10.Participates in departmental meetings, projects and community education. 11.Participates in the backup Chaplain rotation. 12.Assumes responsibility for required professional continuing education. 13.Functions as the Director in the absence of the Director. |
