What You'll Do

Summary:

The Non-emergency Transport Coordinator reports to the Manager of PR Outreach and Business Development and coordinates the daily operations of the non-emergency transport teams in collaboration with the Airlink/VitaLink Operational Supervisors and AirLink/VitaLink Operations Manager, assuring that departmental policies, procedures and standards of care are met. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of non-emergency transport personnel, system performance and supports business development initiatives at the direction of the Manager of PR Outreach and Business Development. Occasionally performs patient care duties as needed or as dictated by operational/volume demands. This position is located at Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. This position will be required to attend its first 2 week orientation period in Wilmington, NC at NHRMC. 



Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates daily operations of the non-emergency transport team in direct collaboration with the BLS/ILS Facilitator. 2. Provides immediate line of supervision to non-emergency transport team personnel. Assists Manager with preparation and administration of quarterly HML conversations, annual evaluations, disciplinary conferences, and anecdotal notes. Will support staff with opportunities for professional growth and development with necessary coaching and mentoring. 3. Serves as a resource and role model for the non-emergency transport team by demonstrating advanced clinical skills and operational knowledge. 4. Periodically acts in the capacity of a staff role when needed. Maintains all knowledge, skills and competencies to perform in this role. 5. May perform moderate or waived point of care testing per CLIA guidelines. 6. In collaboration with the VitaLink Leadership Team, recommends and implements change to improve efficiency and effectiveness of system performance. 7. Functions as a resource for dissemination of new information and problem resolution. Facilitates regularly scheduled staff meetings. 8. Assist Logistics Coordinator with non-emergency transport vehicle mission readiness to include both unscheduled and scheduled maintenance. 9. Monitors the compliance of daily tasks expected of team members including daily truck inspections, patient care records and point of care logs. 10. Reviews customer survey responses and facilitates necessary follow up. Regularly rounds on customers to support marketing strategies that preserve and strengthen existing and new referral relationships. 11. Actively participates in the selection, hiring and orientation of new employees. 12. Assists with orientation and recurrent training needs in concert with the Compliance and Outcomes Manager and Clinical Coordinator. 13. Supports business development and outreach efforts through logistical coordination of the Ride-Along program and marketing events. 14. Actively participates on assigned departmental and hospital committees.

* Drivers License Class C
* Advanced Emergency Med Tech

Education:

Nonessential:
* Associate Degree

Other information:

Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in emergency medical services required. Previous management/supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. Performs other duties as assigned. Individual will possess commensurate combination of education, experience and qualifications.
