What You'll Do

Summary:

The Controls Technician is primarily responsible for maintenance and repair to controls systems and electronics throughout the system facilities (building management system, fire alarm system, nurse call, CCTV, pneumatic controls, etc.).In addition, the Controls Technician will act as point of contact for any construction projects dealing with control systems, and will serve as project manager on small controls related projects.The Controls Technician is supervised by the Lead Controls.Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

1.Responsible for maintenance and supervision of building management system to include technical support, software and hardware system upgrades, system security, determining and justifying additions to system, etc.

2.Responsible for maintenance and supervision of fire alarm system to include technical support, software and hardware system upgrades, system security as well as code required testing and maintenance of the system and it’s devices.

3.Responsible for supervision of the nurse call system to include technical support, software and hardware system upgrades, system security.

4.Responsible for PM and repair to other facility related electronics and controls systems (plant equipment, wastewater monitoring, pneumatic tube system, radio system, overhead paging, CCTV, etc.

5.Will act as a resource for other staff in regard to electronics and controls related repairs, troubleshooting and will be expected to perform education and training on various controls related topics.

6.Will act as a point of contact and resource person for construction projects that involve fire alarm and/or building controls or electronics systems.

7.Will act as project manager on small controls/electronics related projects.

8.Is responsible for making sure facility is safe in regard to its alarm systems and for giving sufficient notification to the proper agencies when these systems are impaired in any way.

Position Requirements

Credentials:
Education:

Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience (Four years experience as a controls technician or six years controls related experience.

Other information:

Experience: Five years of experience with various controls systems in addition to educational requirement. Familiarity with fire alarm systems and building management systems and associated applicable codes desirable.

Demonstrates standard of performance (ownership, teamwork communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Individual will possess commensurate combination of education, experience and qualifications.
