Summary:
The Health Information Management Systems Analyst reports to the Manager of Health Information Management and works under the daily supervision of the HIM Systems Administrator. The HIM Systems analyst will be primarily responsible for operational functions/operations of the Health Information Management systems and the electronic medical record. The HIM Systems Analyst will support the HIM Systems Administrator with assigned duties as well as assist as needed/requested or assigned. HIM Systems Analyst will ensure the integrity and effective utilization of Health Information Management applications/ systems and electronic medical record This position will be proactive in identifying manual or labor-intensive functions that can be more efficiently performed through the application of technologies. This position will also coordinate and/or participate in testing of other new applications and/or upgrades to existing systems.
Responsibilities:
1.Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Health Information systems (Electronic medical record etc.) to include workflow management, monitoring of interface, provider and requester queues, print/fax server maintenance, and security and archiving for both internal and external customers. Validates interfaces to ensure receipt of clinical information from various systems into the electronic medical records. Responsible for functional systems operations to include training, support, and troubleshooting, and working queues as assigned within HIM applications/systems. 2.Monitors and corrects Health Information Management systems for errors. Works COLD Feeds/interfaces queues from NHRMC systems into NHRMC Electronic Medical Record and troubleshoots any issues or workflow/work queue issues. Monitors and troubleshoots all relevant Health Information Management systems associated with the Electronic Medical Record 3.Responsible for maintaining EPIC provider SER records, Provider not in system, MyChart HIM related build, issues including but not limited to customer support/training, proxy monitoring/access. 4.Responsible for assistance with system build as needed, system maintenance and integrity of the medical records created and stored in the system. 5.Utilization of electronic forms building system to design, build and update electronic forms. Responsible to for inventory/revisions of any paper forms or E-Forms for New Hanover Regional Medical Center and affiliates (Pender, Home Care, Physician Practices etc.).Reviewing inventory of forms to create viable indexing for efficient operations. 6.Maintains the integrity of the Document Master of paper forms and electronic templates/forms for consistency, end user support for reference and historical resource. Responsible for Document Master file updates and maintenance. 7.Works in conjunction with Information Services in development, implementation, troubleshooting, system upgrades and maintenance to ensure maximum performance of Heath Information Management systems and related systems. 8.CareLink user accounts/training and communication set up and duties as assigned with growth of HIM systems in relation to the electronic medical record. Performing security audits as directed as well as updating users (CareLink for example) 9.Performs internal audits for quality of EMR documentation as requested Other duties as assigned to support the HIM Systems Administrator or the HIM Department as well as functions/responsibilities for an accurate electronic medical record. |
