What You'll Do

Summary:

The Fleet/Physical Services Technician Level I is responsible for ensuring that the MIH/Home Care Fleet and Stations are in a constant state of readiness and that adequate utilities, fuel, parts, tools and supplies are available/on-hand to successfully complete the Division’s mission. Tech I works closely with the Coordinator/Captain to ensure proper compliance with all matters relating to fleet and station operations, to include (maintenance, monitoring and renting of vehicles. Maintenance of stations, equipment, supplies, fuel, etc.)

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures that the MIH/Home Care Fleet and stations are in a constant state of readiness and that adequate utilities, fuel, parts, tools and supplies are available/on-hand to successfully complete the Division’s missions. Reviews daily/weekly check sheets, problem reports, issues and provides customer loop closure on outcomes. Conducts periodic inspections of MIH/Home Care units and stations. 2. Provides appropriate response, action, and loop closure on submitted reports regarding vehicles and stations. 3. Maintains fleet monitoring software, monitoring for alerts and issues. 4. Assists with maintenance of vehicles including mechanical inventory of units, fuel levels, and repairs. 5. Assists with the deployment of vehicles such as in response to a mass casualty event or special event coverage. 6. Assists with record keeping, vehicle tracking, data entry and inventory. 7. Performs preventative and general maintenance on fleet vehicles and stations. 8. Washes, cleans and decontaminates vehicles and stations as needed. 9. Maintains repair supplies and maintenance inventory. 10. Coordinates with vehicle operators and supervisors, the movement of vehicles through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and station repairs. 11. Maintains accurate documentation/records pertaining to vehicles and stations. 12. Works closely with the coordinator to ensure regulatory compliance with all matters relating to fleet operations and station operations. 13. Assists with accident investigation and bodywork repairs. 14. Consistently demonstrates professional behavior and performs proactive interventions which support the Mission, Vision and Values of NHRMC and this department. Other information:

1. Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 2. Licensure / Certifications: Obtain and maintain Current BLS/CPR certification within 6 weeks of hire. Current and valid driver’s license in state of residence. Must meet general hospital driving requirements and requirements of NHRMCs insurance carrier. 3. Experience: Preferred 3 years fleet or maintenance experience or trade school education, or combination thereof. Ability to operate a variety of computer hardware/software applications preferred. Knowledge about emergency vehicle specifications, preventative maintenance schedules, facilities maintenance.
