The Fleet/Physical Services Technician Level II is responsible for ensuring that the MIH/Home Care Fleet and Stations are in a constant state of readiness and that adequate utilities, fuel, parts, tools and supplies are available/on-hand to successfully complete the Division’s mission. Tech II works closely with the Coordinator/Captain to ensure proper compliance with all matters relating to fleet and station operations, to include (purchasing, leasing, renting, and construction of vehicles, stations, equipment, supplies, fuel, etc.)
1. Ensures that the MIH Fleet and stations are in a constant state of readiness and that adequate utilities, fuel, parts, tools and supplies are available/on-hand to successfully complete the Division’s mission. Reviews daily/weekly check sheets, problem reports, issues and provides customer loop closure on outcomes. Conducts periodic inspections of MIH/Home Care units and stations. 2. Responsible for daily review of assigned departmental and vehicle checklists and vehicle & station problem reports. Provides appropriate response, action and loop closure on submitted reports regarding vehicles and stations. 3. Maintains all reserve vehicles including mechanical inventory of units, Mileage rotations, tires, fuel levels, and repairs. Assists with the deployment of vehicles such as in response to a mass casualty event. 4. Assists with record keeping, data entry and inventory. 5. Performs preventative and general maintenance on fleet vehicles and stations. 6. Washes, cleans and decontaminates vehicles and stations as needed. 7. Maintains repair supplies and maintenance inventory. 8. Coordinates with Operational supervisors, the movement of vehicles through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and station repairs. 9. Maintains accurate documentation/records pertaining to vehicles and stations. 10. Maintains fleet monitoring software, monitoring for alerts and issues. 11. Maintains vehicle and station maintenance equipment and tools. 12. Works closely with the coordinator to ensure regulatory compliance with all matters relating to fleet operations and station operations. 13. Supports new employee orientation process regarding vehicle operations and teaching Emergency Vehicle Operations training. 14. Actively participates on assigned departmental, division and hospital committees. 15. Remains available for on-call assignment and responds to major incidents as assigned. 16. 1. Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred completion of an accepted EMT, AEMT and/or Paramedic program. 2. Licensure / Certifications: Obtain and maintain Current BLS/CPR certification within 6 weeks of hire. Current and valid driver’s license in state of residence. Must meet general hospital driving requirements and requirements of NHRMCs insurance carrier. 3. Certification as Emergency Vehicle Technician Level I Ambulance by EVT Certification Commission with 1 year of hire date. 4. Experience: Minimum 3 years fleet or maintenance experience or a combination of 3 years of Public safety, military, or relevant trade school experience. MS Office competency required. Ability to operate a variety of computer hardware/software applications preferred. Knowledge about emergency vehicle specifications, preventative maintenance schedules, facilities maintenance, budgets and pricing structures/contract negotiations is also preferred.
