Works under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical / Patient Services. Responsible for the computerized diet office management system including bedside menu entry for patients. Trains and supervises the Dining Associate III’s. Participates in the weekend rotation of department coordinators for department coverage. Implements care plan for patients identified at nutrition risk and provides nutrition education on uncomplicated meal plans.
1.Demonstrates a daily commitment to meeting or exceeding the established Standards of Performance.
2.Conducts interviews, assists in the selection of employees; trains and orients new employees.
3.Monitors attendance and daily performance of assigned employees, maintains necessary documentation; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary.
4.Schedules staff and monitors productivity, minimizing overtime and meeting productivity goals.
5.Completes performance appraisals documenting performance goals for assigned employees.
6.Identifies patients at nutritional risk and participates in developing nutritional care plan and goals.
7.Provide nutrition education on drug / nutrient interaction and uncomplicated diets, for patient and / or significant other, assessing level of comprehension.
8.Participates in area performance improvement activities implementing action plans for area changes / improvements.
9.Monitors sanitation and safety of work areas and equipment for compliance with health department regulations and fire codes.
10.Monitors adherence to department and Medical Center policies and procedures.
11.Practices appropriate written and verbal communication as necessary to support patient care duties and general operations.
12.Responsible for department security to include opening and closing the department on weekends.
13.Monitors the department diet office management system to ensure all procedures are followed.
14.Supports program operations by demonstrating flexibility and adaptability with work assignments.Follows assigned work schedule.
15.Applies sound judgment in problem solving and prioritizing of duties.
16.Manages job duties effectively and efficiently. Performs all required activities with minimal oversight needed.
17.Advocates for department and Medical Center and the community.
