Summary:
Responsible and accountable for developing, facilitating and supporting the education needs of the NHRMC personnel. This includes orientation, on-going competency validation, and enhancement of knowledge and skills through in service programs based on patient populations and staff learning needs.
Responsibilities:
1.Assesses, plan, develops, implements and evaluates the educational needs of the NHRMC personnel. Designs and implements education programs to ensure high quality staff knowledge and skills. Develop and evaluates annual education plan. Actively participates in providing on-going continuing education programs to meet these needs. 2.Designs teaching programs for patients/families and provides assistance to staff in program implementation. 3.Assesses staff knowledge by conducting competencies on required and identified skill sets. Provide on-going education when appropriate. Ensuring staff competency by conducting joint visits as needed. 4.Designs, implements, and facilitates orientation for new NHRMC Home Care employees. 5.Prepares staff for the role of preceptor through teaching/facilitating classes and acting as a resource. 6.Facilitates computer classes to include Allscripts functionality .Acts as a resource by assisting staff members as appropriate. 7.Maintains knowledge of current regulatory and accreditation requirements.Designs educational opportunities to meet theses requirements. 8.Maintains CPR instructor certification.Ensures all required staff maintain CPR certification. 9.Maintains current knowledge base in clinical best practices.Educates staff as appropriate. 10.Coordinates nursing student assignments. 11.Design, implement and conduct required annual inservices for all staff. 12.Maintains educational records on all NHRMC staff.Ensures minimal educational requirements are met by all staff. 13.Reviews QI and OASIS data in conjunction with the QI Coordinator to identify education opportunities.Coordinates the resources and designs and implements education opportunities based on these findings. |
